Not so still life. My rabbit had other ideas.

Cast resin sculpture by Kelley Hestir. She wanted an night sky appearance, so I burned holes in my backdrop paper and placed a light behind it.

Small plants from my yard help define small can be big.

Made ths portrait at their home using a 1926 vintage Kodak 5x7 View Camera. They had to sit still for about a minute.

On a photo walk through Waikiki, I turned around and captured this moment, magic of sunset in Waikiki.

My nephew found a ceramic mask I had made of myself and asked me to make a portrait of him.

The store has been long closed, as it ages and waits for demolition, it still has a beauty to share.

The side view of this building on Kalihi Street, just a document of aging.

The theater is closed, but I loved the marquee. Vintage Honolulu. Sadly, the graffiti portrait of the woman has been removed. It lent so much to the experience of Kaimuki.

1926 National Resonator Guitar, designed for playing on musicians lap. Speaker cones in the body, amplify the sound, mechanically. Originally used for Hawaiian music, played with a steel bar, hence the name, Steel Guitar. Eventually used by Country Music and Blues. A front view of this guitar appears in the beginning of my photo collection in the web site.

Courtney models a new dress by Native Echoes. On the beach at Ala Moana.

Hand painted designs on fabric by Lucy of Native Echoes. Courtney, Kalayani, and Gus model the new line of Aloha wear.

Before Fort Street became a Mall. Just a small lane. drive only 10 mph. The juxtaposition of image content provides a quiet narrative.

Improvised cumulative applications of spray paint with no thought.

Driving by this scene day after day, I realized how iconic it is of Honolulu’s culture and beauty. The amazing signage inspired me to do a series of signs in Hawaii. Photographed with my Nikon D850.

This department store, developed for Home Improvement has been an iconic presence on Dillingham Blvd. in Honolulu for many years. Just recently I noticed the signs qualities and photographed it for a series on signs in Honolulu.

On the first block of Kalakaua Ave. This building and it’s beautiful Copper sign dominates the street. I photographed this for my series on signage in Honolulu.
